Rules of Betting : Exacta Pool

5.1.
PURPOSE:
The purpose of the Exacta is to select two horses to finish first and second in that order in a race designated in the official race card as an Exacta Pool race.

5.2.
UNIT OF BETTING AND MINIMUM BET:
Refer to Chapter 11.

5.3.
CALCULATION OF DIVIDEND:
The dividend shall be determined by dividing the net pool by the number of unit bets on the winning horse combinations.

5.4.
DEAD HEAT:
Notwithstanding the provisions of Rule 5.3. whenever two or more horses dead heat the dividends payable will be calculated in the following manner:

5.4.1.
The net pool shall be divided into as many equal portions as there are possible dead heat combinations and each resultant portion shall then be divided by the number of unit bets invested on those winning combinations. Provided further that should there be no unit bets on any of the possible winning combinations, that portion of the net pool shall be carried forward and dealt with in terms of rule 5.5.

5.5.
CARRY FORWARD:
in the event of there being no ticket on any of the winning combinations the net pool will be carried forward and added to a net exacta pool selected at the sole discretion of the Club, provided that such carry forward is made within one month of the original pool.

By increasing the possible combinations, one can increase the chances of winning.
The Exacta unit of betting is KShs 10 and the minimum bet of KShs 40 applies.
